TRAVEL: MAHABANG BUHANGIN, CALAGUAS ISLANDS

There are two things primarily why I don't like a beach getaway. One, I don't swim in salty water. My dead hair would be doubly-dead by then.😀 Secondly, I don't like packing things. But this past Holy Week, I made it a GO!

With my squad in tow, we hit the road to Calaguas Islands in Camarines Norte. The Calaguas Islands are located in the Municiality of Vinzons, in the province of Camarines Norte. It is known for its pristine beaches - the most popular among these is the Mahabang Buhangin beach, which is made up of a long stretch of powdery white sand. Calaguas Islands is actually group of islands consisting of 20 plus islands and islets.

 

We departed Manila night time, Holy Thursday. 

Pick-up place: MOA grounds. 

The Travel & Tours we've commissioned arrived just in time to pick us up. After a long, nine hours or so trip from Manila, we've finally touchdown the port of Vinzons. A ferry took us for another 2 hours to Mahabang Buhangin Beach, Calaguas Island. 

The weather was cooperating saved from a few unfriendly waves from time to time. We've spotted some islets and nothing was short of white sand in them. Finally, we arrived in the island, It was already teeming with people. Colorful tents dotted the shorelines. The moment my feet touched the sand, I have come to a realization that the idea of a beach vacation was not bad after all, 😀

 

Not much activity for us that day.  The place was picturesque in itself that its hard for you to take a handful of memories. So I lost no time in taking photos. 

But first, a hearty lunch. We were with other group who joined us and sealed some friendships from there. 

The island was also a melting pot for small entrepreneurs. Every corner you will find a sari-sari stores. Prices was friendly, though. After lunch, we've found ourselves swimming like there's no tomorrow. Enjoy!
